Funding for Advocacy is Shrinking
MAP currently receives all of its funding for agency and program operations from federal grants. It is expected that MAP will receive reduced or level funding for the current fiscal year. It is also expected that federal funding for advocacy programs will decrease next year as well as in the following years.
The reality is that MAP does not currently receive sufficient funding to meet all the requests for assistance received from Montanans with disabilities. Unfortunately, the need for advocacy will not decrease as federal funding decreases.
MAP is actively pursuing alternative funding sources to supplement, and if necessary, supplant, federal funding. One important alternative funding source is YOU: the Montanan with a disability; the concerned family member; the provider of services; the fellow Montanan. MAP is asking for your help so that advocacy efforts to protect and assert the rights of Montanans with disabilities can continue.
MAP is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation, and contributions to MAP are tax deductible to the extent allowed by tax law.
All contributions - large or small - are welcome.
